For Maison Jeudi, a durable armchair is one that is well-designed, well-made, and built to withstand everyday use. Our lounge chairs are manufactured in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France.
But to go further, we made a strong choice: To let Eco Impact, an external and independent organization, rate the environmental and social impacts of our products.
Why eco-rate Maison Jeudi armchairs?

How does the Eco Impact rating of our products work?
The Eco Impact rating is based on a Life Cycle Assessment (a complete study of all parts of the furniture, from the extraction of the raw materials used in its construction to its end of life, including manufacturing, transport, etc.), but also incorporates demanding qualitative criteria such as the social conditions of production. Who is Maison Jeudi?

Pleased to meet you!
I am Magalie Jeudi, founder of Maison Jeudi. After 18 years as a product manager for a ready-to-wear brand, I embarked on a career in vintage-inspired design. My experience in textile creation, product industrialization, industrial production, marketing, and B2B trade shows, combined with my vintage passion, allowed me to launch this passion project.
Why the Chauffeuse with its seventies look? For a very long time, I used a pair of vintage armchairs in my home. One day, I sold them and simply regretted it. It took me two years to find the perfect seat I was so attached to: made of foam, upholstered in velvet, with a rounded shape. And that's when I started asking myself the following questions: Is it possible to produce them? Where? How can I improve them? Design the shape? Find a manufacturer? Find suppliers of upholstery fabrics? Imagine different styles? How can I give this 70s-inspired foam armchair a decorative edge? And so it began. One year, twelve months, 365 days to launch the first collection, to imagine and build a brand.
Why a Collection? I've developed a complete range including poufs and cushions. These are the perfect complements to the chaise lounge. Maison Jeudi is structured like a ready-to-wear collection with themes (fabrics, colors, solids, and patterns). It's about working with color and feeling good. And the tote bags? Reusing fabric scraps because nothing is wasted and everything is transformed...
Why is the Maison Jeudi Chauffeuse different from the others? This is a completely original design that took a year to develop with a manufacturer. It's a single piece of high-quality foam wrapped in wadding, with no pressure points or seams, making it very durable. I absolutely wanted the chair to have the following features: comfortable, removable cover, washable, adjustable, and non-slip. A seventies design that's easy to live with! A cool and functional retro armchair for everyday use and for the whole family.
Why Made in France? The aim is to showcase local expertise and prioritize local sourcing whenever possible, with complete transparency. To demonstrate that it's possible to offer a desirable and creative product made in France.
Why the Vintage Selection? Personally, I've always mixed new and secondhand items. In 2020, I started offering vintage decor alongside my role as a product manager. I have a vintage soul, blended with an appreciation for architecture and a love of unique pieces. The vintage selection is a natural continuation of this passion and is what sparked this project. Vintage decor is a source of authenticity and inspiration, offering a more sustainable approach to decorating. It adds a touch of soul, helping you feel truly at home.
Why Mix and Match? Nine x Second Life items to create a distinctive style. Offering a beautiful melting pot, sharing, surprising, changing the rules and inviting brands and artisans later on.
Thank you for your trust.
